Lyrically well crafted tickling the intellect, often rare for pop/rock hit material. Musically a stalking measured beat that crescendos into despairing cries. Love Jack's rhythm section on 1st two solo studio recordings. Mac Poole and Simon Fox on drums (Ian Ellis bass). Knee deep in experience with the likes the Screaming one, Warhorse and Be- Bop Deluxe, their contribution towards Jack's sound during this era cannot be minimized.
At this age Jack is clearly a seasoned veteran and stage performer. Top notch performance! Ironically thirty years later I find Jack just beginning to peak lyrically, having a lifetime of rich experience to draw upon. Catch his songs on Onesongworld.com and tell us what you think!
