Great album, didn't chart well as Phil May bailed out of the backing tour (no surprise). Great thing is the Snapper re-releases which make these Pretties CD's readily available including Jack's Metropolis tracks and the single Tonight. If it wasn't for Peter Grants loyalty to Phil May we would have had an entire Metropolis Swan Song release.What a jerk! He was a bad guy embodying the underbelly of the music business, but as Paul Rodgers says,"He was our bad guy who took care of us at the time".
Sad Eye, my favorite song from this one. Played it to my best friend after his fiancee broke up with him and he cried his eyes out. What a butt hole I was. Good news was that they patched it up. (LOL) Despite this bands personal baggage, nobody did it better when they were on, extremely innovative with complex layering.
