It's nice to read a music critic who 'gets it'! When Jack played the famous El Mocambo (of Stones Love You Live fame) the crowd agreed with this critic while the Toronto press gave it a mediocre review based on the lack of extended solo's show casing the talents of the individual members of this supergroup.It's too bad critics rarely are masters of any instrument lacking the understanding of what cutting edge compositions and a tight musical unit are all about. I bet if Jack bit the head off a live dove or chicken on stage the writer would have been pleased!
Jack's a class act and an animal lover. He and his music will be remembered long after peevish critics and their one-sided reviews are laughingly forgotten. Most critics can't even hold a guitar, much less play one. To show what a brave soul he is, Jack's started to send us his solo concert reviews to be published here on the J-GAS site. The man has no fear, certainly not about what someone else might think. To be an innovator, you have to go where no one else has ever gone.
